Every child deserves a classroom that fits them. At our 4th Annual Transforming Lives Luncheon, we heard from Sal Khan, founder of Khan Academy, and Sergio Martinez, a BASIC Fund scholar.

They gave two perspectives with one shared belief: educational opportunity changes everything. From conversations about the future of learning and AI to the personal stories that remind us why this work matters, it was a meaningful afternoon in support of Bay Area students.

Thanks to the extraordinary generosity of our community, we raised $1.4 million supported by a $500,000 match. To our board, donors, sponsors, and friends: thank you for giving families a choice, and children a chance. Take a look back at some highlights from the day:

Last Tuesday, The BASIC Fund hosted our fourth annual Transforming Lives Luncheon! Together with our students, supporters, and school leaders, we celebrated the power of educational opportunity and raised $1.4 million for scholarships, thanks in part to a generous matching gift.

This year's program featured Sal Khan, founder of Khan Academy, and Sergio Martinez, a BASIC Fund alumnus whose story reflected the lasting impact of scholarship support.
