IT'S CARNIVAL DAY! Our campers have brought their carnival games to life for everyone on campus to try, all complete with a multitude of prizes. They enjoyed nonstop fun with a splash-filled dunk tank, colorful face paint, giant bouncy houses, games, and arts and crafts. It's been a busy week, and we're making for an unforgettable K–8th-grade summer experience at rdschool.org/summer-camps.

Hands-on creativity is in full swing at Redwood Day Summer Camps! In Carpentry Camp, kids use real tools to construct authentic projects under expert guidance, while over in our Ceramics Studio, campers experiment with clay by making detailed imprints of campus findings like leaves, branches, and patterns under the direction of our Artist in Residence . Young foodies are exploring global cuisines and food science in Cooking Camp, this week whipping up homemade tacos and a variety of fresh salsas from scratch. Other campers are venturing into the art of sewing, starting with the basics of cutting fabric and following a pattern. With the fantastic summer weather continuing, campers are also soaking up plenty of time outside between sessions. Hands-on adventures, one amazing week. This week in Art Camp, our campers got their hands in the clay! Guided by Artist in Residence , campers explored sculptural techniques while creating original clay pieces — and dove into a special project designing clay masks inspired by traditional African mask-making. From shaping and carving to adding texture and detail, our young artists learned that art is as much about the process as it is about the finished piece. Every piece was fired right here in our very own kiln before campers added the finishing touches! rdschool.org/summer-camps

There's nothing quite like a Redwood Day summer afternoon. Campers are out playing soccer and having a blast with friends, swinging as high as they can reach, and soaking up the sun — then finding cool shade under our beautiful redwood trees when it's time to slow down. This is our summer free time at camp: movement, laughter, and making the most of our beautiful campus. Spots are still available — register at rdschool.org/summer-camps

Science exploration is happening on campus THIS WEEK — and trust us, you don't want to miss them! Our Science of Stuff camp has campers exploring stuff that flies, from paper planes to rocket launches, with hands-on experiments. Because everyday "stuff" is full of surprises! Meanwhile, our artists are exploring their own artistic practices, including drawing and printmaking techniques, at the Drawing and Printmaking Camp. Open to rising K–6th grade. rdschool.org/summer-camps.

This week, our DBI Lab campers took on the Egg Car Challenge, designing, building, and crash-testing mini vehicles engineered to protect a raw egg "passenger" — think crumple zones, launching ramp, and a whole lot of trial and error, with real engineering, real problem-solving, and real fun all around. Shoutout to for the challenge inspiration! And it's not just eggs flying this week. Middle schoolers are also deep into an awesome Dungeons & Dragons camp, rolling dice, building characters, and going on epic quests together. Camp open to rising K–6th graders, still spots left! Week 2 of summer camp has been delicious! Our little chefs whipped up homemade butter, banana bread, fluffy pancakes, chicken quesadillas, and yogurt fruit parfaits — all while sporting their own customized aprons and chef's hats. Meanwhile, our Eco-Innovators got up close with some very special guests thanks to the Oakland Zoo ZooMobile, learning all about our planet's smallest (and cutest!) critters. So much learning, so much fun, so much flavor — that's summer camp at Redwood Day!
