Our Kindergarteners had a visit to remember! 🚒
As part of Redwood Day’s Oakland as a Classroom initiative, we welcomed the incredible crew from Oakland Fire Engine 16 to campus. Students met firefighters up close, learned how they keep our community safe, and explored the gear and equipment they use every day.
The highlight? Climbing aboard the truck and taking a turn spraying the fire hose!
We’re so grateful to these dedicated emergency service professionals for sharing their time, their expertise, and a truly unforgettable experience with our youngest learners.

It was wonderful seeing everyone who came out on Saturday, March 14, to celebrate our 4th Annual Redwood Day Anime Convention. This convention was put together by 21 amazing student leaders. Special thanks to the parent/guardian volunteers for supporting the event: Helen Jordan, Greg Morantz, Sara Newmann, Kate Welti, and Laura Millichap. We look forward to seeing everyone next year!

Adobe Visits Redwood Day - Redwood Day welcomed Brooke Hopper to speak to Middle School students as part of our ongoing effort to connect students with professionals working at the forefront of their fields. Brooke is Senior Principal Designer of Machine Intelligence & New Technology at Adobe — the company behind some of the most widely used creative tools in the world, including Photoshop and Illustrator. She described her work as helping design the tools of the future for artists, designers, and other creatives, giving students a window into what a career at the intersection of design and artificial intelligence actually looks like. During her visit, Brooke demonstrated Adobe Firefly, Adobe’s generative AI platform, showing students how AI prompting and reference images can be used to generate animations and video. The visit sparked rich conversation about the future of creativity, the role of AI in design, and what it means to build tools that empower human expression.
