Calling all leaders! The National Board for Professional Teaching Standards is assembling a committee of educational leaders who will shape the upcoming revision of its Literacy: Reading-Language Arts standards.

Introducing "Literacy Now, Together," a podcast miniseries hosted by FULCRUM's Kareem Weaver and Parents for Reading Justice's Brett Tingley. This collaboration will unwind the reading crisis and present solutions with literacy leaders and families across the county.
In this first episode, a family from NY describes how advocating for their daughter expanded into broader community action when they formed a PTA and created a support network to push for better literacy instruction. Their story is a call to action, demonstrating the importance of persistence, self-education, and community advocacy in navigating a flawed educational system.
