The gardens are growing!
Onions, garlic, tomatoes, peas, peppers, and perennials ❤️🌱❤️🌱 rice and corn in the rice paddy, and the drip system has been doing a good job watering! 😃

We attempted to hull our rice we grew in the fall and it proved to be a slow process! But we cooked sushi rice, cut veggies and made vegetable maki rolls and taste tested miso soup! Fun science class on Friday!

I was pleasantly surprised at how well our gardens have grown this summer! We have RICE growing in the paddy and a TON of tomatoes! Thank you to our friend Jessica and her family for helping to pull weeds! Our floating islands also look great too!

The gardens are looking so GREAT! We picked some radishes although they are now flowered, ate some Toscano kale, pulled very few weeds thanks to all the hard work of our students this spring, staked a few tomatoes, smelled our beautiful flowering 🌸🌼perennials... we are going to have a TON of tomatoes 🍅 and even potatoes! Perfect 🍅 for our fall salsa making competition! And to top it off, the rice is growing! 🍚 🍚

Trying out potatoes this year at MMS! Mixed in leaves and Coast of Maine Organic Products, Inc. lobster compost to amend or sandy soil. They worked hard!
