Making Moves HBCU Tour

The HBCU Making Moves Tour was EVERYTHING Fall 2025 College Tour took around 20 students to Atlanta, exploring Morehouse, Clark Atlanta, Spelman, and Morris Brown. The vibes were unbeatable they had a blast, and many are already planning to attend these schools. Plus, we bumped into our social media director, Keyshawn Ward, and former student Royal. Exposure changes everything. I'm looking forward to seeing what the future holds for them.

Yesterday was special. Our CEO had the honor of speaking at Friendship Baptist Church to a small but mighty group of students about the history, traditions, and legacies of our nation’s HBCUs — and the transformative experiences we provide through our HBCU Making Moves Tour.
These young minds were eager, curious, and full of potential. It was a privilege to pour into them — not just with facts and history, but with purpose and pride.

Thank you, Pastor Parker, for the warm invitation and for creating space for this important conversation. The future is bright when we invest in it. 💡📚✊🏾

🎆 They wanted freedom — but not for everyone.

In 1776, the American colonies declared independence from Britain, shouting about liberty, rights, and justice. But behind the fireworks and flowery words was a bitter truth:

🔗 3 of the 5 men who wrote the Declaration of Independence owned slaves.
🖋️ 41 of the 56 signers enslaved Black men, women, and children — while signing a document that claimed “all men are created equal.”

Let that sink in. That’s not freedom. That’s hypocrisy.

The fight for freedom was never intended for everyone. Black people were excluded from the promises of independence even as their forced labor built the wealth of this “new nation.”

Black bodies were Shackled, Whipped, Tortured, R***d, Mutilated, Branded, Subjected to all forms of Brutality and Violence, Dehumanized, Treated as Property, Separated from Families, and Stripped of their Identity and Culture all while white men wrote about liberty, freedom, and independence. The revolution was never truly inclusive. The Founding Fathers fought to be free from oppression — while continuing to oppress others.

Before you light that sparkler this 4th of July, ask yourself: Who was freedom really for?

We had such a great time at HBCU Family Day! From the vibes to the food to the culture — it was nothing but love and good energy all day. 💛🖤
