I recently came across a polished, unhoused (aka homeless) person who is a phenomenal opera singer. At some point, I'd like to submit a video to one of the reality TV music shows and/or post a video online that would hopefully go viral. (Even if he doesn't win, I'd like to improve his financial situation, and possibly achieve the commercial success of stars like Susan Boyle.)

Does anyone have suggestions for the following: 1) should I post the video online before or after submitting it to a reality shows. 2) which social media platform should I use first (i.e. Tik Tok, Facebook, or You Tube; 3) which TV show should I submit to (i.e. "America's Got Talent," "The Voice," or "The X Factor" "The Sing-Off," or "The Masked Singer")? 4) Have you actually submitted videos to the shows?

This website was founded and run by Stevie Van Zandt, Bono, and Scorcese, and other entertainment luminaries. It offers a trove of resources to help teachers and students to learn about the history of rock and roll, while cultivating a basic understanding of some of the technical things an informed listener should understand. (i.e. instrumentation, song structure, link b/n melody and lyrics)

It's worth checking out, if only to enjoy videos of legendary performances.

Phenomenal performance as well as the study of intros that were as iconic as the songs themselves. For students of songwriting, great intros can not only make the songs more memorable but serve as the key hooks around which the songs and choruses are built.
