This booklist offers a roadmap for q***r and trans people looking for hard-to-find information about parenting, and also for anyone looking to apply q***r politics to how they choose to raise children.

As bell hooks states, q***rness is “about the self that is at odds with everything around it and that has to invent and create and find a place to speak and to thrive and to live.” Q***r parenting is an adventure encompassing expansive and non-normative experience with gender and sexuality, and also a political and revolutionary act that requires uprooting patriarchy and heteronormativity, anti-blackness, and other forms of societal conditioning that reproduce systems of oppression and harm generationally.
