Created by the talented Joseph M Montalvo , each mural brings color, imagination, and meaning into our centers.

And you may notice the butterflies throughout the artwork.

For us, they represent transformation, growth, and becoming, just like the children who walk through our doors. Every day, they learn, discover, grow, and transform into who they are meant to become.

Today, our La Plazita teachers came together for a meaningful day of Professional Development, led by some of our amazing directors.

We revisited The Teaching Pyramid, a foundation of our work at La Plazita, reviewed accident prevention and safety for both children and teachers, and explored the professional use of technology as a tool to support our work and communication.

We are proud of our teachers for continuing to learn, reflect, and grow. Because when our teachers grow, our children grow too.

Did you know why our name is La Plazita with a “Z”?

Many people ask us:
“Why is La Plazita spelled with a Z instead of a C?”

The answer is very special.

Although placita is correctly spelled with a C in Spanish, La Plazita was created from the love of our founding family.

The “Z” represents the founder’s three children.All three have names that begin with this meaningful letter.

And that’s how La Plazita was born: not as a spelling mistake, but as a tribute to the founder’s family and their story.

Today, La Plazita is much more than a name. It represents our community, our children, and our teachers.

So, the next time you see La Plazita with a Z, you’ll know there is a story filled with love behind it.

Age 2 is a beautiful time for children to begin discovering the world beyond home.

Starting preschool around this age can help children:

- Build independence and confidence.
