A beautiful day with Ysenia and familia at the Cal Bears Spring game and home debut for new head coach Tosh Lupoi. Lots of Cal royalty in the house. Ysenia crushed the national anthem as always - despite a crazy sound delay, and not having in-ear monitors. A great lesson for young artists: it’s not about what you do when everything is perfect, it’s about how you rise to the moment when things go wrong. We could not be more proud.

Still processing the kickoff of our first ever artist development program with so many wonderful young artists and amazing mentors. Over the next several months these artists will get a chance to connect to other artists, talent buyers/promoters, agents, labels, distributors, published and more. They will also be building their portfolio of assets, and it will all culminate in a showcase at a prominent venue. Thank you to Airship labs for hosting us! Stay tuned.

Lisa spoke to our group - which included young artists from Oakland Tech and Edna Brewer Middle School (via Elevate Oakland), and two members of Oakland Rising (via OSA) - about many things, including this clip about taking chances. I’ve seldom witnessed an artist whose words were as thoughtful as their performance. It was an unforgettable night.
