Wow, our Prescott peas are really growing! Just planted in mid December! We are looking forward to really expanding our garden program this spring and creating more amazing outdoor learning spaces for Prescott West Oakland students when it becomes safe to return to school.

Look what we harvested from the Prescott West Oakland fruit orchard! Two types of apples, meyer lemons and satsumas. Good things are growing at our school!

Check this out - Prescott West Oakland has a beautiful campus with outdoor spaces that will be critical when children return to school. We need to create more connections with our environment and our community to keep our communities safe, not just from Covid-19 but in a changing climate. The Prescott First Fruits Project is excited to do just that, read all about it!

Tomorrow we are unveiling our Prescott First Fruits Project at a meeting with OUSD, check it out! This seed to table gardening and food education program will bring together Prescott West Oakland parents with noted chef Sarah Kirnon, the worker-owned Mandela Grocery Cooperative, the educators of the Oakland Education Association and other community groups and individuals committed to the children of West Oakland.
