Yay it’s pride month! It’s an amazing month in the Bay, but it can also be a little overwhelming. For those of us in search of low stim hangs - for those of us navigating transition, burnout or grief, Waveform has you covered. I did three woodburning workshops for Medical Assistants at Kaiser Permanente this month. My favorite part about working with folks in healthcare? They are real, they are funny, they are focused. Truly so grateful that nurses, medical assistants and other healthcare professionals seem to be drawn to the studio. I know it’s hard to slow down when the stakes are usually so high - I am honored to be here for you to chill out and connect with your creativity. Lately the sunlight has been gracing us with bright spots in the studio. I am ever grateful to be here with you. And clay is here for us. Every new moon, I like to host a candle-making class to call in intentions and connect with studio community through fragrance, color and craft. Calling all therapists, counselors, educators, and social workers... Waveform is offering a special workshop this Saturday in collaboration with Ground Ceramics in West Oakland. May was a big month for teambuilding. Recently I hosted the philanthropy team at the San Francisco AIDS Foundation and they were a DELIGHT. We had a great time making trinkets, pinch pots, sculptures, scarf rings and more. What a fantastic group of humans

Waveform is officially on the move! The studio will be operating as usual throughout June in North Oakland while we build out a clay classroom, craft oasis and wood shop in a new space in West Berkeley. If I'm slow to respond, here's why :)

The new space will have plenty of room for crafting, and I'm excited to be working with my partner to build out a WOOD SHOP that will offer beginning woodworking classes! The new space will continue to prioritize beginners, with an emphasis on accessible offerings and having fun :)

Clay is naturally therapeutic. For those of you in the healing professions looking to learn more about this powerful, emotive, grounding material, come check out this workshop series I’m co-facilitating with my friend Judy! I’ll be leading a grounding exercise and we’ll walk through foundations of working with clay, and then Judy will take us through a discussion around possible interventions in session.
