This weekend, we gathered to connect with, celebrate, and thank the incredible community that has supported us on our journey to our permanent home, and to Raise a Cup to our CUP!

We crafted, sang, ate, and enjoyed a beautiful day together in Castro Valley.

Thank you, Mosaic community, again and again, for everything you do and for helping make this journey possible. We can’t wait to see what the future holds!

After 20 years of dedicated work — a decade of searching for our permanent home and another decade of navigating the Alameda County’s public review process — we are thrilled that the County recently approved the Conditional Use Permit for our future home in Cull Canyon, Castro Valley.

We are grateful for the overwhelming support we received, including the efforts of over a thousand community members who wrote and called the Supervisors to support the project.

Now, a lawsuit has been filed by TwiningVine Winery and a few other neighbors challenging our Conditional Use Permit under the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA).

We are committed to seeing this project through to show our kids the power of persistence, speaking out, and standing up for what matters and to ensure access to our transformative programs in nature for generations to come.

We stand behind our cutting-edge, environmentally sustainable design, we stand behind a decade of expert analysis, and most importantly, we stand behind the value of The Mosaic Project for Alameda County, the Bay Area, and beyond.

We also remain committed to being exemplary neighbors, and the invitation we extended to TwiningVine Winery and other neighbors when we first found the property in 2016 still stands — we would love to partner with them in uplifting all of Cull Canyon.

Onward and forward! Here’s to many more decades of Peacing It Together!
