Last week our 3rd and 5th grade students joined forces for an exciting STEM engineering challenge! Working in mixed-grade teams, students were challenged to design and build a landing system that would safely protect their astronaut during a drop. 🌎🚀
Our young engineers worked through the engineering design process as they:
⭐ Planned and drew their designs
🛠️ Built their astronaut landing systems
📏 Measured and recorded results
🪂 Tested their creations
💡 Identified problems and improved their designs
🚀 Tested again to see if their changes worked!
The best part was watching our 5th graders take on leadership roles while working alongside and encouraging our 3rd graders. Students practiced problem-solving, creativity, communication, teamwork, and perseverance—all while having a great time learning together!
What an ASTRONOMICAL day of STEM learning! 🌟🪐🚀
