๐ญโจ YHS Theater Alumni Spotlight โจ๐ญ
Theater doesn't end when the curtain falls.
This summer, we're reconnecting with YHS Theater alumni to celebrate the memories they made on our stage, the paths they've taken since graduation, and the lasting impact theater has had on their lives.
Today we're catching up with Dylan, Class of 2021.
---------------------------
What shows/roles you were part of?
The Monster R***e (Victor Frankenstein & witch), Motherhood Out Loud (Bobby Barnes)
Favorite YHS Theater memory?
Everything, all of it. YHS Theater, the people who put it together, were like family. Everyday I walked inside of those doors, I was greeted with warmth and laughter. There were no bad days in theater, with Thorson blaring Shakira at 8 in the morning.
What did theater teach you or what stayed with you after high school?
Theater, although ultimately it was Thorson, taught me to be unapologetically myself. I've also taken a liking to Shakira since my first encounter with both.
What are you doing now?
I am a 2025 Fresno State alumni and have been working as an archaeologist ever since! I specialize in Cultural Resource Management, and am going to push towards my masters degree in a few years.
Are you still involved in theater or the arts?
Although I am no longer active on stage, the artists' spark inside never died! I've always been an artist, and have been painting and doing photography in my free time.
Any advice for current YHS Theater students?
You do not need to have everything figured out right now, at this very second. Things change, and that's okay. You will always find yourself!!
