There’s something special about a slow morning at home and an afternoon filled with discovery. For families who love that rhythm, our afternoon program offers a meaningful introduction to early education that fits naturally into your day. 🤍

Two afternoons a week, your little one can explore, create, build friendships, and discover the joy of learning alongside other children. With caring teachers and learning through play, children have time to become familiar with school routines and build confidence, one experience at a time.

Curiosity, Courage, and Community Helpers! 🚒❤️

Today, local firefighters visited Heritage and brought fire safety learning to life. The children asked questions, learned about their protective gear and radios, watched a firefighter dress in full gear, and discovered why firefighters may look and sound different during an emergency. Of course, taking turns spraying the fire hose was a favorite! 💦

Experiences like this help children build confidence, make meaningful connections, and better understand the trusted helpers in their community.

A special thank you to the Hackett and Mackey families and Modesto Fire Department for making this memorable morning possible! 🚒✨

TWO FIRST DAYS, ONE AMAZING START! 🎉

We have officially wrapped up two wonderful first days of school at Heritage! ✨🌳

Our hearts are so full after welcoming our children and families for the 2026 to 2027 school year. These first two days were filled with sweet reunions, new friendships, classroom discoveries, brave moments, big smiles, and so much excitement for the year ahead!

To our Heritage families, thank you for trusting us with your children and helping make the beginning of this school year so special. We are incredibly proud of our kiddos and cannot wait to watch them learn and grow this year!

A very special shoutout to Charlie Peach Designs and for bringing our beautiful First Day of School photo and balloon backdrop to life! It turned out absolutely amazing and gave our families the sweetest place to capture this special milestone. 📸🎈

🌊💦 Making Waves at Heritage! 💦🌊

What a splash-tastic evening! From water balloons and water painting to games, pizza, and endless laughter, our Making Waves Parents’ Night Out was one for the books. ☀️💙

There is nothing better than seeing our Heritage kiddos making memories, building friendships, and simply enjoying being kids.

A huge thank you to our incredible teachers for giving their Friday evening to create such a fun and meaningful experience for our families. We couldn’t do it without you! 🫶

🌎🤎 Happy International Mud Day from Heritage School of Discovery!

Today our outdoor classroom was filled with muddy hands, curious minds, big imaginations, and endless smiles. Children mixed, poured, scooped, built, experimented, collaborated, and discovered the joy of learning through nature.

At Heritage, we know that mud play is so much more than getting dirty. It is meaningful, hands-on learning that helps prepare children for kindergarten and beyond.

Through mud play, children develop:
🤎 Fine and gross motor skills
🤎 Problem solving and critical thinking
🤎 Creativity and imagination
🤎 Language and communication skills
🤎 Scientific thinking through observing, experimenting, and making predictions
🤎 Social skills like teamwork, cooperation, and negotiation
🤎 Confidence, resilience, and independence

These are the same foundational skills that support kindergarten readiness and help children become capable, curious, lifelong learners.

While today was International Mud Day, outdoor exploration is part of everyday life at Heritage. Whether children are digging in the garden, building with natural materials, creating in the mud kitchen, or splashing in water, we believe the best learning happens when children are free to explore, wonder, and play.

Thank you to our incredible teachers for making today so special and to our Heritage families for embracing the beautiful mess that comes with a joyful childhood.

Because sometimes the best learning begins with a little mud. 🌱🤎

🎨 Heritage School of Discovery is returning to the Kids Corner this Saturday (June 13) with Sensory Bins, Activities & Crafts! 🌱 Kids can look forward to another morning of hands-on creativity, imagination, and discovery with the wonderful team from Heritage - School of Discovery .

Join the wonderful educators from Heritage School of Discovery for activities designed to spark curiosity and exploration. Kids will enjoy sensory bins, crafts, and creative play perfect for little hands and big ideas!

Heritage School of Discovery is a high-quality preschool in Oakdale dedicated to creating an environment that sparks imagination, wonder, and discovery. Located on two acres beside an almond orchard, Heritage uses hands-on, project-based learning inspired by the Reggio Emilia Philosophy and HighScope curriculum to support each child’s growth, confidence, and creativity. 🌼🖍️

A new activity is featured every Saturday at the Kids Corner, starting at 9 AM. Look for the large tent near Bistro 120 or check the map on our website!
