750+ children. 9 days. And the need keeps growing.

We typically enroll about 200 children each month in Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library.

But in just 9 days, more than 750 Stanislaus County children have been signed up to receive the gift of a book every month.

And every day, we come back to more families enrolling their children.

This is incredible, but we need your help to keep saying YES to every child.

Together, we can make sure every child ages 0–5 in Stanislaus County has access to books.

Remembering Dolly Parton Through the Gift of Books

Dolly Parton’s legacy is about so much more than music. Through the Imagination Library, she gave children the gift of a free, age-appropriate book every month and the opportunity to build a lifelong love of reading.

For more than 10 years, Stanislaus County has been promoting and supporting Dolly’s Imagination Library, helping put books directly into the hands of local children. Every book opens a door to learn, imagine, dream, and discover.

The Dollywood Foundation will continue Dolly’s vision and keep her legacy alive through the Imagination Library, bringing the gift of reading to children for generations to come.

One meaningful way to honor Dolly’s legacy is to help keep the gift of reading growing right here in our community.

Dolly purposefully built the Dollywood Foundation and the Imagination Library to last beyond her lifetime -- and to be here for generations of readers yet to come.

Dolly had the dream, but we are all part of continuing her vision. We still have Stanislaus County families to reach, children to enroll, and, most importantly, more books to send! 📚❤️

💔 Today, we say goodbye to a truly extraordinary woman.

Our hearts are heavy with the passing of Dolly Parton. While the world remembers her for her incredible music, unforgettable personality, and countless contributions, we are especially grateful for the legacy she created through Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library — a legacy of putting books into the hands and hearts of children.

Exciting news from Dolly Parton's Imagination Library of Stanislaus County! 🎉

As of July 2026, we're thrilled to announce that 8,109 children are currently enrolled in our program, receiving free, age-appropriate books every month! 📚❤️ That's right, we've updated the count and are still celebrating!

We also celebrate the 10,439 children who have graduated from the program, having received a fantastic foundation for their reading journey. 🌟 Their love of reading starts here!

🌟We will be at the Maker Hoopla this Saturday, April 25th. Drop by the table to say, "Hi." 😊
We will have registration forms available for those Stanislaus County kiddos under 5 who are not currently in the program.

Don't forget to register for Maker Hoopla, taking place this Saturday, April 25, from 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. at the Petersen Event Center (720 12th Street, Modesto).

Maker Hoopla is a FREE, hands-on event for families with students in preschool through 6th grade. Kids can learn by doing through interactive activities that invite them to build, design, create, explore, and invent!
