Congratulations to our 9 West Stanly JROTC cadets who attended Methodist University for a weeklong JROTC Cadet Leadership Course (CLC). Chief Cooper served as a Flight Advisor, and had the unique opportunity to lead and bond with 151 cadets representing 23 different NC high schools. The mission? To intentionally push these young leaders out of their comfort zones and test both their physical and mental limits.

Our cadets were put through the ringer, and they answered the call at every turn:

🏃‍♂️ Physical Training & Obstacle Courses: Grueling morning fitness sessions designed to build true stamina, discipline, and grit.

🧭 Field Skills: Hands-on, high-stakes exercises like land navigation, water obstacles, and high-ropes courses.

🎯 Team-Building: High-energy activities (including paintball!) that forced them to think strategically and build tight-knit camaraderie under pressure.

Thanks to Mrs Watkins for accompanying the cadets during their camp.

☀️🍎 FREE Summer Meals To-Go for Stanly County Kids & Teens are back for Summer 2026!

Stanly County Schools is proud to partner in providing free, healthy meals for children and teens 18 years old and younger this summer. Meals will be available June 8 – July 23, 2026, with pick-up at Albemarle Middle School

✅ Families MUST register each child by June 1, 2026
✅ Meals are available at no cost
