First Steps Child Development Center A Three-Star preschool for children ages 6 weeks through 5 years old in Oak Ridge, TN. We accept children who are six weeks through 5 years old.

First Steps Child Development Program is based on the belief that children learn through play and experiencing the world around them. By providing children with a variety of learning experiences, we hope to contribute to the overall development of each child. Our main emphasis is to educate and prepare the children enrolled in the program to meet the challenges of a diverse world- and to do that i

n a way that values each child and affirms the worth of each child. We wish to enable children from all races, creeds and cultural backgrounds to feel valued and loved. The preschool is licensed by the state of Tennessee and maintains a 3-star quality rating, the highest level of achievement possible. Hours:

*Half Day Program: 7:30am - 1:00pm
*Full Day Program: 7:30am - 5:30pm

Kindergarten Kick Off is coming soon! Families of incoming kindergarten students are invited to join us Thursday, May 21, from 5–6 p.m. at all four Oak Ridge Schools elementary schools.

This is a great opportunity to meet school staff, explore the building, learn more about kindergarten, and get excited for the year ahead.

NECPA accreditation means that First Steps has met the highest standards for early childhood education and care. This accreditation is a sign of quality and excellence. It shows that First Steps is committed to providing a safe, nurturing environment for children, as well as ensuring that our students receive an enriched learning experience that fosters cognitive, social and emotional development. Our Spaghetti Dinner & Silent Auction is tonight (6:00-7:30pm)! Bidding for the silent auction items has started! There are lots of fantastic items up for bid. You have until tonight at 7:30pm to bid. You do not have to be present to win. All proceeds from this fundraiser will go toward revamping and improving our playground, especially the sandbox area.
