Fatoumatou’s journey is a testament to the power of education and support. 💜

After facing health challenges, long distances to school, and the risk of dropping out, WGEP’s Sisters to School program helped her stay in school by providing fees, supplies, health insurance, psychosocial support, and guidance. Today, Fatoumatou is a state-registered nurse, living her dream of improving the health and well-being of others while inspiring the next generation of girls to pursue their own futures.

🌎💜 Education is Climate Action. 💜🌎

Around the world, 122 million girls were still out of school in 2025, and climate change continues to make access to education even more difficult. Each year, climate-related challenges prevent at least 12.5 million girls from completing school.

But girls are not just affected by climate change, they are essential to solving it.

When girls have access to education, they gain the knowledge, confidence, and leadership skills to strengthen their communities, support sustainable solutions, and build a more resilient future for everyone.

At WGEP, we believe investing in girls' education is one of the most powerful ways to create lasting social, economic, and environmental change. Every girl who stays in school is helping shape a stronger future for her community and our world. ✨

Because educating girls isn't just an investment in education, it's an investment in climate justice.

What a night! 💜

Thank you to everyone who joined us on Monday, May 11, for Ndajee 2026: From Education to Climate Action—Girls Leading Change at The Dalcy in Chicago’s West Loop.

Together, we have raised over $312,000 toward our $350,000 goal — and we are so close!

The evening was filled with community, celebration, and a shared commitment to girls’ education, including an Impact Award celebration honoring Julie Moller, a powerful keynote from Craig Davidson of Rick Steves’ Europe, West African drumming and dancing by Victoria Djembe Academy, a silent auction, paddle raise, dancing, and desserts.

A special shoutout to our wonderful emcee, Alex Mbuthia, for leading the evening with warmth, energy, and heart!

We were also proud to debut our new video highlighting WGEP’s work in Senegal, where girls and women are leading climate action through education, leadership, and locally driven solutions.

Thank you to our sponsors, donors, partners, volunteers, Board members, and guests for making Ndajee such a memorable and impactful evening!

Missed Ndajee or want to help us reach our goal? There is still time to make a gift and support girls as they learn, lead, and change the world.

🎉 Ndajee 2026 is less than one month away! 🎉

Ndajee 2026 is just around the corner, and we’re excited to share a special announcement—our Keynote Speaker: Craig Davidson of the Rick Steves' Europe Climate Smart Initiative! 🌍

Craig is a mission-driven leader who believes business can be a force for good, leading efforts that invest in climate solutions, community impact, and a more just world. Since 2022, the Rick Steves Climate Smart Initiative has supported WGEP’s girls’ leadership and climate-smart programming in Senegal—empowering young leaders already creating change in their communities.

This year, Ndajee highlights the powerful connection between girls’ education and climate action. When girls are educated and equipped with leadership skills, they don’t just face global challenges—they lead the solutions.
