📣 There's a BIG change coming to the PSAT in 2023 and SAT in 2024. Both will be different for students. 📣 Here's what you need to know. ⬇️

After the SAT suite transitions to digital in 2024, there will no longer be paper-and-pencil versions of the PSAT/SAT except for students with accommodations that require them.

Students should take the SAT before the test goes digital so you have the chance to choose your best score.

Here’s the timeline for when the SAT and all PSAT-related assessments are going digital:

📅 The digital PSAT 8/9 and PSAT/NMSQT goes into effect everywhere starting in fall 2023.

📅 The digital PSAT 10 rolls out everywhere starting in spring 2024.

📅 The digital SAT launches in the U.S. starting in spring 2024.

We’re beyond proud to share that two Huntington Learning Center students wrote children’s books that have been published on Amazon Kids! 🎉📚 Congratulations to Jaylynn and Caleb on this incredible accomplishment. We had a wonderful time celebrating their success with a book signing at their local Huntington Learning Center.

📗 Jaylynn Gray wrote her inspirational poetry book titled “7eventh Grade” about her struggles in middle school and how she overcame her lack of confidence and challenges with schoolwork. When Jaylynn joined the Huntington Learning Center accelerated program in October 2022, she was reading and writing on a 4th-grade level. In this short time, she has made significant academic strides and is now reading and writing on a 6th-grade level! Awesome work, Jaylynn.

📗 Caleb Choi is an outstanding student and a fast learner! He wrote his book titled “Physics with a 4th Grader” about quantum physics and how physics is part of our everyday lives! Prior to joining Huntington Learning Center’s accelerated program in August 2022, his average reading grade was an 87. Now, it is a 95! Keep soaring Caleb.

It particularly remembers St. Patrick, one of Ireland's patron saints.

To this day, St. Patrick's day is a historically significant holiday to people of Irish descent, and others who want to partake in some of the fun traditions, like wearing green, having fun playing leprechaun pranks, and trying to find 4-leaf clovers.

In Chicago, they have a tradition of dying a section of the river green. Every Saturday before March 17th - except for two years of the pandemic - the river is dyed this striking hue in honor of the city’s Irish roots.

Individualized tutoring helps students SO much! To find out how much, we did some research:

We found that with 50 hours of instruction during the COVID period, Huntington students, on average, achieved a 35% increase in math percentile scores from pre- to post-test and a 33% increase in reading percentile scores from pre- to post-test. 📈

This was further supported by data from the 2021-2022 school year that showed that with 50 hours of instruction, students achieved a 36% increase in math and 30% increase in reading percentile scores.

These results show that in less than 3 months, we can help mitigate learning loss damage from the pandemic and help students regain control and confidence of their academic potential.

Here are some activities you can do with your kiddos to celebrate National Pi Day. ⬇️

🥧 Bake a Pi (how about chicken pot pie for dinner with apple pie for dessert?)
♾️ Do the math. Measure the diameter and circumference of round objects, divide the circumference by the diameter, and see if you get 3.14 every time.

Susan B. Anthony was a champion of temperance, abolition, the rights of labor, and equal pay for equal work. She traveled around the country along with Elizabeth Cady Stanton delivering speeches in favor of women's suffrage. In 1888, she helped to merge the two largest suffrage associations into one, the National American Women’s Suffrage Association. She led the group until 1900.

Anthony died in 1906, just 14 years before women were given the right to vote with the passage of the 19th Amendment in 1920.
