Ice cream, carnival games, and zero rain—what a way to kick off the new school year! 🍦🎉

This past Sunday, over 100 students, family members, and staff gathered on the playground for our annual St. Catherine - St. Lucy School “Back to School” picnic. The energy was electric as everyone enjoyed fresh popcorn, sweet treats, and friendly competition.

A huge shoutout and thank you to our incredible partners and volunteers who made the day such a success:

-Academic Achievement Institute Corp for generously supplying the delicious food, beverages, and carnival games!
-Neighborhood Bridge for spending time connecting with our families and sharing the vital programs their team provides.
-Dylan Barnett and the Barnett brothers for providing the muscle behind setting up and breaking down the event!

Finally, thank you to everyone who came out to celebrate with us! We dodged the rain clouds, made wonderful memories, and set the tone for an amazing school year ahead. 📚✨

Lacing up for student success! 🏃‍♂️💨

We are excited to announce that our School President, Staunton Peck, will once again be running the Chicago Marathon on October 11th to raise crucial funds for student scholarships.

Last year, thanks to your overwhelming support, President Peck raised an incredible $30,000. This year, he is pushing the benchmark even further with a goal of $33,000—a 10% increase to help even more students access a life-changing education.

Last Friday, St. Catherine-St. Lucy School and Big Shoulders Fund co-hosted a “Summer Bash” on our playground to welcome our new and current Early Learning and Kindergarten families!

The day was packed with fun activities, including:
🎨 Face painting
🎟️ Carnival games
🎈 Balloon animals
🧸 A personalized “build-a-bear” station

Events like this are a great reminder of how special our community truly is. A huge thank you to everyone who joined us, and a special shoutout to our summer fellow/intern, Brendan Giles, for taking photos and helping make the event a success! 📸🙌

Brendan, who is a Saint Ignatius College Prep alum, has managed our social media this Summer. He will be missed when we heads back to college in San Diego in a couple weeks. We truly appreciate his dedication to our school and community.
