Matisse, Monet & Me

Matisse, Monet & Me Matisse, Monet and Me™ encourages creative expression thru the inspiration of art, science & culture Our program is then new to them once again!

A new artist or culture is studied once a week until completion of our 3-year curriculum cycle. Primary students (3-6 year olds) are introduced to historical art ideas and learn how to manipulate various art media while developing their “pincher grip” needed for writing. Elementary students review artists in greater detail, experiment with various art media, fine-tune their motor skills and build

on their eye/hand coordination. Erd-Kinder (Middle School) students continue to study artists in greater detail while focusing on self-expression and experimenting with new art techniques. The curriculum spans the duration of the 3-year Montessori cycle. It begins with “Cave Art” and concludes with the present day so lessons are not repeated for 3 years. After 3 years, the student is inspired through the fresh eyes of their new stage of development and the program.

Matisse Monet & Me™ art students began this school year studying artists of the Italian Renaissance. Students will continue in this 2nd year of our curriculum to explore the art techniques and ideas of these old masters to create our own art inspired by them!

Artist Titian was appointed the royal painter and a knight by King Charles V of Spain due to his artistic abilities. He was often asked to paint about mythological stories and was known for painting beautiful landscapes behind his subjects. Primary students (3-6 years) began class by drawing our own silly story and then created tabletop dioramas from found objects to practice mapping and paint our own landscapes!

Artist Titian was appointed the royal painter and a knight by King Charles V of Spain due to his artistic abilities. He was often asked to paint about mythological stories and was known for painting beautiful landscapes behind his subjects. Elementary began class by drawing our own silly story and then created tabletop dioramas from found objects to practice mapping and paint our own landscapes! Erd Kinder created a subject for their story and combined the story into their diorama to make their painting.
