District 229 is proud to share that Oak Lawn Community High School has earned top regional and national recognition!

In addition to placing in the 81st percentile nationally in U.S. News & World Report’s 2026–2027 Best High Schools rankings, OLCHS was highlighted in the Chicago Tribune's featured report as one of the Top 25 Suburban Cook County High Schools ( #23).

These honors reflect our outstanding student growth, college readiness, and high graduation rates. Congratulations to our dedicated students, staff, and Spartan community for driving academic excellence!

Building rewarding career pathways in the skilled trades!

Oak Lawn Community High School students recently attended the Construction Industry Service Corporation’s (CISCO) 5th Annual Union Construction Trades Fair at IBEW Local 134, joining over 1,300 participants from across the region.

Our Spartans jumped right into hands-on demonstrations, connected with Union Apprenticeship coordinators, and spoke directly with contractors about exciting careers in fields like electrical work, engineering, bricklaying, and skilled construction trades.

Opportunities like this give OLCHS students invaluable insight into real-world craftsmanship, apprenticeship pathways, and high-demand careers right here in northern Illinois. We can't wait to see where their skills take them next!

Friday Night Lights are back!

From the staff tailgate to the student section, Friday night was all about showing up and showing out! 🔥

Our football team, cheer team, dance team, band, and Spartans in the stands brought the energy from kickoff to the final whistle. 💚

This is what being a Spartan is all about. One school. One community. One team.

SPARTAN ALUMNI SPOTLIGHT

We’re proud to see Class of 2025 alumnus Rocco Santoro continuing to pursue his passion for sports and journalism at Butler University!

Rocco, a staff reporter for The Butler Collegian, recently published his first football article of the season, covering Butler’s hard-fought season-opening victory over Georgetown College.

Check out Rocco’s latest work and support one of our Spartans as he continues to make his mark in collegiate journalism!

Welcome back, Class of 1971!

We were excited to welcome members of the Class of 1971 back to Oak Lawn Community High School today for a special tour of the building as they celebrate their reunion!

It was wonderful to have our alumni back in the halls, sharing memories and seeing how their school has evolved over the years.

Thank you to the Class of 1971 for stopping by and making Oak Lawn a part of your reunion celebration. Once a Spartan, always a Spartan!

A UNIQUE RIDE TO SCHOOL!

Junior Joe Stachovic was pretty excited to earn his motorcycle endorsement — and for good reason!

To celebrate the accomplishment, Mr. Kowalski from Industrial Tech, Mr. Sipple from Maintenance, and Mr. Krupa from Counseling picked Joe up at his house on a beautiful Friday morning and rode their motorcycles to school together.

Joe’s excitement was contagious, and it made for a pretty memorable way to start the school day. We love seeing our staff celebrate our students and the things they’re passionate about!

💬 "I am excited to be back at Oak Lawn after being a counseling intern here last year and working with a wonderful group of people! This year, I am most looking forward to seeing the Dance Team perform their halftime routines, because they have been working extremely hard at practice and are excited to show everyone what they’ve been working on."

When you see her in the hallways, make sure to stop by and say hello! Drop a welcome message in the comments below!
