Congratulations to all participants in the Annual High School Business Competition!

On April 17th, students from across the district gathered at Moraine Valley Community College to take on a real‑world challenge: creating and presenting a full marketing plan for a fictional product revealed the morning of the event.

Their creativity, teamwork, and business savvy were on full display—every team should be proud of their work.

On Friday, April 17th, 2026, Moraine Valley Community College and the MACS Office sponsored the Annual High School Technology Skills Challenge. Over forty-five students from our regional high schools participated in the following career and technical education events -

A+IT Essentials
1st - Stagg, 2nd - Oak Lawn, 3rd - Reavis High School, District 220

Electronics
1st - Andrew, 2nd - Eisenhower, 3rd - Stagg

Microsoft Office
1st - Evergreen Park, 2nd - Alan B. Shepard High School, 3rd - Oak Lawn

On Thursday, March 5, 2026, the following businesses participated in the MACS regional Job Shadow Day -

- Northwestern Medicine/Palos Hospital
- Oak Lawn Park District
- OSF Little Company of Mary Hospital
- Joliet Slammers
- Donson Machine
- IBEW Local 134

Over one hundred students from Eisenhower, Richards, Shepard, Reavis, Oak Lawn, Andrew, Stagg, Sandburg, and Evergreen Park high schools participated in the event.

On February 19, 2026, over 150 high school students attended Moraine Valley’s Public Service Career Day.

🌟 Highlights from the event included:

• Learning about Public Service careers and Moraine Valley programs
• Receiving schedule and class guidance
• Participating in educational breakout sessions with public service educators
• Connecting with potential employers from various public service organizations

A huge thank you to MVCC faculty member Michelle Skelton for her exceptional planning and to all the students, educators, and public service professionals who made this day so impactful! Your dedication to public service and education is truly inspiring.

Sincere appreciation to Dave Viar, Jim Greer, and Moraine Valley Community College for hosting an outstanding Welding Competition on Friday, February 13, 2026. Supporting students as they explore career opportunities in the trades remains essential.

Congratulations to all participating schools: Argo, Stagg, Evergreen Park, Richards, Eisenhower, and Joliet West. The competition featured a written exam as well as a SMAW skill assessment—each student demonstrated remarkable effort and skill.

On Monday, February 2, 2026, MVCC and MACS hosted the eleventh annual High School Automotive Skills Competition. The event featured students from Argo, Shepard, Richards, Oak Lawn, Andrew, and Stagg High Schools.

Students showcased their skills in both written and hands-on testing areas, including Electrical, Team On-Car, and Fasteners & Micrometers.

Thank you to Moraine Valley Community College for hosting a Mechanical Technology and Trades Expo on Friday, November 14, 2025, for the MACS regional high schools.

Several trades were represented as well as Moraine Valley's Welding, Automotive, HVAC, Industrial Maintenance Technician, and noncredit Nondestructive Testing programs.

A big thank you to everyone who volunteered their time to share their knowledge and expertise with our students!
