To begin, I am sorry for being a week late on my Thank You post but I made a very conscious effort to decompress and focus on beach time with the family this week but that makes this Thank You no less important!!!
The Oak Hill Athletic Boosters consists of myself and 5 other ladies these days and because of all the help from our athletes, coaches, Oak Hill PD and Madison Jefferson FD, Whitney Crabtree running Car Show, maintenance and grounds guys getting everything moved and ready and Kevin Crabtree and his crew: Link Stiltner, Arrick Boggs, Jeff Moore, Buck Lunsford and Doug Hale braving the horrendous heat over those fryers; we were still able to have an amazing event for the community to celebrate America’s 250th!!!🇺🇸
In addition to the time spent preparing the grounds and/or working the booth by those listed above, the donations from all of our sponsors for our events, the stage, the fish booth and the Spring Carnival allowed us to do it without taking anything from our athletes!!! Please take another look at the lists below of all these people who generously gave toward the effort and remember them the next time you are ready to purchase something that one of them offer and support them in return.💰
In addition to the sponsors, this year we had 13 young ladies that ran for the title of 4th of July Queen by selling raffle tickets. Those girls managed to sell enough tickets to give us a much needed financial boost and we are incredibly grateful to each of them and their families who helped them with ticket selling. Congratulations again to our Queen, Olivia McKenzie for selling $2,275 worth of tickets to win the crown!!👑
Also, the guys at Arthur Rozzi PyroTechnics really did a phenomenal job for us. We had really wanted to have a bigger fireworks show for the 250th but when the Spring Carnival did not bring in as much as we had hoped for, we were not willing to risk taking money from the athletes. I reluctantly informed them that we needed to keep the cost the same and they did everything possible to increase the power of the show without increasing the cost and I could not have expected anything better! They have been a fabulous group to work with since day 1 of my fireworks planning years ago! Along with them, I need to give a special thanks to my husband, Aaron. His help with unloading and reloading all of the fireworks with a tractor is always such a relief for the firework team and I appreciate it too!!🎆
So finally I must say, none of this happens with just 1 person or even just 1 of the groups I have mentioned, it is truly a group effort!!! But my group that sticks with me all year gets an extra pat on the back: Rachel Davis, Ronda Daft, Tamron McCain, Joy Hale and Josie Howard, Thank You for always being there for whatever needs done! And an extra special Thanks to mine and Rachel’s children who get roped into a lot just because they are ours and are willing to help however they can! If it is cleaning fish booth, unloading Sam’s supplies, moving pop, or setting up a carnival; you can always find Brenna, Amarybee and Mason in addition to Booster member Tamron and when we need something fixed or built, we end up with Talyn and Aaden’s help too! From the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU TO EVERYONE THAT HAD A HAND IN MAKING THE CELEBRATION A SUCCESS!❤️
