So, I have this mantra I teach my students: 'Don't gaze at the sun with your "nakey" eyeballs!' 😎

It's a rule that applies every single day—not just during an eclipse. It's the same reason we safeguard our eyes when welding or using a plasma cutter in robotics.👩‍🏭

Here are just a few STEM Winter Break Activity Ideas:
#1- on my list would be creating puzzles, crafts, and games, and gift baggies and taking them to a nursing home, and playing your games or crafting with the elderly. Another nice idea is building birdbaths, feeders, and pretty window clings for them to enjoy looking at.
#2- Google fun ways to teach children how to do laundry, clean the windows, fridge/freezer, and kitchen cabinets inside and out, rearrange the garage-or bedroom- or closets, tie shoes, change the HVAC filters, build a garden for fairies, bathe pets, teach pets tricks, sew a button on, tell time, count money, or bake!
#3-For more selfish but highly educational fun-- would be building a Fingertech Robotics Viper Kit!
Below are several more entertaining ideas, toys, and games to have fun with during the break:
#4- I just can’t recommend Brain Chase enough! -This is SUCH good fun for everyone:

#5- Build a Rube Goldberg machine and film it!!!!! Build it with ANYTHING and any theme. Use Bulk Dominos, Playing Cards, Hot wheels and tracks, Jenga, LEGO, ANY building materials!
#6- Wonder Workshop “Dash” or “Cue” robots
#7- HEXBUG BattleBots Arena Max
#8- HEXBUG BattleBots RIVALS Platinum –which will have to suffice until they make a KRAKEN version!!
#9- Optical Illusion, Spy, Escape Room, and/or Magic kits and games
#10- Build an outdoor obstacle course for kids and pets -----along with your Rube Goldberg machine!!!
#11- Computer coding games- Code Spark Academy, Code.org, sooooo many to choose from!
#12- READ something awesome together! Find a terrific series and listen together on Audible or other apps.
