Burns Cross Country Starts the Season Strong!

What a great way to kick off the season for our Burns High School Cross Country Team!

This weekend, our runners competed in the Ninja 5K in Deltona, a local road race at Green Springs Park featuring 5K, 10K, and half-marathon distances. It gave our athletes an opportunity to put their summer training to the test and begin the season with some strong competition.

We are especially proud to celebrate:

Owen Carignan — 1st Overall
Jasmine London — 2nd Overall Female

These are outstanding accomplishments, but we are incredibly proud of every Burns runner who showed up, competed, and represented our school.

Cross country takes dedication, discipline, endurance, and a willingness to push yourself beyond your comfort zone. We are excited to see what this team accomplishes throughout the season!

Eagles Varsity Volleyball Wins!

What a weekend for our Girls Varsity Volleyball Team!

Our Eagles traveled to Winter Haven this weekend to compete in the Sunshine State Athletic Association (SSAA) Volleyball Invitational, featuring teams from across Florida. After an incredible weekend of competition, our girls battled their way to the top and brought home FIRST PLACE IN THE BRONZE DIVISION!

We are so proud of the determination, teamwork, and heart our girls showed throughout the tournament. What a fantastic way to kick off the season!

Congratulations to our Girls Varsity Volleyball team!

What a way to start the season at home! Our Eagles came out strong and walked away with a WIN over Merritt Island Christian Academy.

Great job, ladies! We are so proud of you and can’t wait to see what the rest of the season brings. Keep working hard, supporting one another, and representing our school with pride.

First Home Game!

It’s finally here: our first home games of the season!

Come out tomorrow and show your support for our JV and Varsity teams as they take the court for the first time at home. Let’s fill the stands and show our athletes how much we support them!

JV: 5:30 PM
Varsity: 6:30 PM

Admission:
Adults: $6
Students: $4
Elementary students and younger: FREE

Building Trades & Construction Design Technology: Learning by Doing

Today was the first day of our Building Trades & Construction Design Technology (CDT) elective, and our students jumped right into a hands-on project!

Each Monday, Mr. Hall will work with our high school students alongside Mr. Chris Hatcher of Hatcher Construction in Edgewater, who is sharing his knowledge, experience, and expertise in the construction industry with our students.

Building Trades & CDT combines hands-on construction with the technical and design skills used in the building industry, giving students an opportunity to learn real-world skills while exploring potential career pathways.

For their first project, students are beginning construction on a new greenhouse for our school, replacing the greenhouse we had in the past. They will have the opportunity to see the project develop from the early stages all the way to a finished structure they can be proud of.

We are incredibly grateful to Mr. Hall & Mr. Hatcher for investing their time and experience in our students and helping us create meaningful, career-focused learning opportunities.

This is what hands-on education is all about: learning skills, solving problems, building something real, and seeing your hard work come to life.

Volleyball Color Scrimmage Today!

Middle School, JV, and Varsity will all be taking the court today! Games start at 5:00 PM.

Come out, wear your team colors, bring your friends and family, and enjoy some fun volleyball! Games are free, so come support our Eagles and help us kick off the season together.
