Dear Families,

As we prepare to welcome you into our school for conferences next week, we want to ensure our learning environments are comfortable, welcoming, and safe for all students, staff, and visitors.

We would like to gently remind all families that many of our students and staff members have severe allergies, asthma, or sensitivity to strong odors. To help us maintain a healthy environment in our classrooms and hallways, we ask that everyone be mindful of strong scents prior to arriving on campus.

This includes:
• Heavy perfumes, colognes, or body sprays
• Scented lotions or essential oils
• Smoke or strong odors on clothing (including to***co or cannabis/marijuana)

Our teachers appreciate your partnership in keeping our classroom spaces clean, fresh, and accessible for everyone during conference week and throughout the school year.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation!

Christina Merritt, M.Ed., NBCT
Principal, Oak Harbor Elementary

Don't forget to complete your impact aid survey forms! The survey was sent to all families via ParentSquare. Every year, Oak Harbor Public Schools relies on families to complete the survey to ensure our schools receive critical federal funding that supports special education, classroom programs, activities and other essential services for all students. Every family needs to complete the survey — even if you are not military-connected or employed on federal property.

The survey is quick, confidential and essential. Please complete your student’s Impact Aid Survey Form by Friday, October 16!

Take a moment to hear directly from one of our military children about why your participation matters.
