🎨 **Friday is Art Day at North Whidbey Kids Academy!** 🍂

We learned about **Pointillism** and **warm colors**, then put our learning into action! Using Q-tips and acrylic paint, the kids created beautiful fall leaves using tiny dots of warm colors. 🍁🧡❤️💛

🧩 Another fun STEM challenge! Our kiddos worked together to put together a wooden puzzle we brought home from Budapest a few years ago. 🇭🇺 They can challenge themselves with either the alphabet side or the number side—great practice for problem-solving, teamwork, and perseverance!❤️

✨ **Our First 7 Days of School!** ✨

The first seven days of school are all about learning our classroom procedures and rules, getting to know one another, and easing back into the school routine❤️

We’ve spent lots of time practicing transitions, learning how our classroom works, building friendships, and of course, mixing in plenty of fun activities, laughter, learning, and play 📚✏️🎨

We’re getting back into the groove, and I’m so excited for all the learning and adventures ahead this school year! 🍎❤️

We had so much fun learning all about PLANTS! 🌿 We planted marigolds, created beautiful stained-glass flowers, sang plant songs, read stories, and learned about the parts of a plant, different types of plants, and what each part does. 🌻🪴

Of course, there was plenty of playing, laughing, and getting a little messy along the way. 😂💚

WE DID IT!! ❤️🎒 The Amazon t4ucks have been dropping off items as early as 4:30 am this morning 😂😂😴😴😴

I know it’s “only” 8 kids…but 8 kids are going to smile and feel a little extra love, even if it’s just for a little while. ❤️

And hopefully, we’ve taken one small burden off 8 families who have lost everything and are living in limbo, wondering what comes next. 🥹

I seriously can’t believe it! We only have 2 items left on the Amazon list for our Spokane kids (boy shoes) 🥹

Some goodies arrived today, and I’ve decided I’m adding another little toy to each backpack because…school supplies, clothes and necessities are important, but these kids need some FUN too! And apparently I’ve decided one stuffy just isn’t enough. 😂 🧸🚗💕

I know we’re only helping 8 kids out of so many famili3s who lost everything, but that’s 8 kids who will hopefully feel a little extra love and have something to smile about.

🎒❤️ Progress update! ❤️🎒

We have 1 backpack completely stuffed and ready to go! 🎉 We now have 2 girls' backpacks and 5 boys' backpacks left to fill for children affected by the Spokane fires.

These children have lost everything. As back-to-school season approaches, many are facing the heartbreak of starting a new school year without a home, their clothes, their favorite toys, or even their basic belongings.

Each backpack will include school supplies plus essentials like:
👟 Shoes
🧦 Socks
🩲 Underwear
👕 An outfit
🪥 Toothbrush & Toothpaste
🧸 A small toy
🪮 Hairbrush & Hair Ties (for the girls)

Cafe de Lisio will be accepting donations on August 13th.
