We have some exciting staff introductions to share! 🖤💛

Three of these faces are brand new to Oak Grove Elementary, while one familiar face is stepping into a new role at OGE! 🎉

We are so excited for this group and all they will bring to our students and school this year.

We’re kicking off Work Hard Wednesday by highlighting our PK3 and PK4 students! 🖤💛

Our littlest learners have been busy learning new routines, exploring their classrooms, building friendships, and working hard each day. We are so proud of the great start they are making!

Each Wednesday, we’ll highlight a different grade level and share a glimpse of our students engaged in learning and experiencing success at OGE.

💛🖤 | OGE Office Staff 🖤💛

Today we’re introducing two of the friendly faces who help keep Oak Grove Elementary running every day!

⭐ Sheridon Ashley — Administrative Assistant
Sheridon is often one of the first faces you see when you walk into OGE! She helps keep our front office organized, assists our students, families, and staff, and handles about a million little things behind the scenes each day.

⭐ Shelbi Johnson — Bookkeeper
Shelbi helps keep the business side of OGE organized and on track! From paperwork and purchases to keeping up with school funds, she plays an important role in making sure things run smoothly behind the scenes.

We are so thankful to have Sheridon and Shelbi as part of our OGE team! If you see them around school, be sure to say hello! 🐯💛

📅 Candy Store begins Monday for grades FIRST-FIFTH! We had several requests last year to add some healthier options, so we are excited to include some this year!

Please remember that Candy Store is completely optional.

🚗🚙 CAR LINE UPDATE 🚙🚗

We are waiting on pick up tags to be delivered. We will get them to you as soon as possible. Until then, please write your student’s last name and grade level on a piece of paper and place it on your dashboard when picking them up. This will help our line move more efficiently. Thank you for your help in this!

We can’t wait to see the rest of our tigers tomorrow!

‼️IMPORTANT INFORMATION‼️

WE CAN’T WAIT TO WELCOME STUDENTS BACK TOMORROW!

Tomorrow is our first Soft Start day! Please remember that only the following students attend tomorrow:

⭐ ALL 4th & 5th grade students — girls and boys
⭐ PK3 & PK4 girls
⭐ Kindergarten boys

🚗 MORNING DROP-OFF

• You MUST enter the drop-off line from Willis Street, behind the school. No exceptions.

• Students will not be allowed out of vehicles until 7:30 AM.

• PK4: Parents will be directed to pull over and let students out in front of the OGHS gym.

• K–5: You will be directed to a numbered spot in front of the school or a colored area under the awning. Please have your child wearing their backpack and ready to exit the vehicle when you reach your spot.

• Parents/guardians may not park in the parking lot or on side streets and walk students into the building. No exceptions.

• PK3: Drop-off and pick-up will take place in front of the PK3 classroom on Chatman Street.

• Have students at both OGE and OGHS? Drop off and pick up your students using the OGHS drop-off and pick-up lines.

💧 WATER BOTTLES

Only CLEAR water bottles with clear water are permitted.

Non-clear water bottles will be sent to the office for parent pick-up. Students without an approved water bottle will be provided a cup to use at the water fountain.

🧸 LEAVE AT HOME

Please keep toys, Squishies, NeeDohs, and other similar items at home. They are not permitted in classrooms.

🚙 AFTERNOON PICK-UP

• Pick-up begins at 3:00 PM.

• You MUST enter the pick-up line from Willis Street, behind the school.

• Please do not begin lining up before 2:45 PM.

• Parents/guardians may not park in the parking lot or on side streets and walk over to pick up students. All PK4–5th grade students must be picked up through the pick-up line.

We know the first few days require a little extra patience as everyone learns the routine. Thank you for helping us follow these procedures so we can keep all of our students safe and keep arrival and dismissal running as smoothly and efficiently as possible.
