☁️🌦️The theme this month is weather. ⛈️☀️

Today, the children placed drops of paint onto paper and spun it, they observed how the paint spreads outward in colorful patterns. This activity encouraged scientific thinking, creativity, and sensory exploration. The spinning motion allows children to see how movement affects liquids, similar to how wind and rain move through the sky during different weather events.
By using a variety of colors, the children explored color mixing, noticing how new colors form when paints blend together.

Through hands-on exploration, this activity combined art, science, and weather concepts, helping the children build creativity, curiosity, and early scientific thinking through play.

Today, we focused on word building. We played a game where we had to take turns pulling a letter out of a bag and identifying the letter sound. Once we identified the letter sound we looked at the picture on the board and had to work out where the letter went to form each of the words. We recognized that the pink shells were vowels, and the blue ones were consonants which helped us identify where to placed them. After this activity the older children challenged each other by playing hang man and the younger children had to work out what the missing letters were.

Phonemic awareness: Understanding that letters represent sounds and using this to build words is part of early reading skills.
Problem-solving: Figuring out where letters go in words encourages critical thinking and pattern recognition.
Memory and recall: Remembering letter sounds and word structures supports working memory development. Turn-taking games:
Reinforce logical sequencing and strategic thinking (especially in games like Hangman). Expressing ideas verbally: Children explaining where letters go helps in developing oral language skills.
