MASTERING HOME FOOD PRESERVATION
Mastering Home Food Preservation is a series dedicated to teaching safe and effective home food preservation techniques. This program session serves as an introductory course on water-bath canning. This program is designed to emphasize the importance of following proper food preservation guidelines.

EVENT DESCRIPTION
This free program includes both an in-person lecture and a hands-on demonstration. The lecture will cover an overview of water-bath canning, including essential techniques and safety practices. During the hands-on demonstration, participants will receive step-by-step instructions to create a home-preserved product.

NOURISH TO PREVENT: An Educational Cancer Prevention Series

Dates: Tuesdays, March 18th and March 25th
Time: 5:30P-6:30P
Location: West Carroll Parish Extension Office, 195-A Community Road, Oak Grove

What to Expect?
A 3-part educational series on Cancer Prevention will be held at the West Carroll Parish Extension Office on March 18th and 25th. The last class is an in-person grocery store tour and date will be decided on by participants.

This program is designed to educate adults who may have a general interest in cancer prevention, those who may be at high risk for cancer, or who may have survived cancer and want to prevent it from reoccurring. We will discuss "What is Cancer", "Nutrition and Physical Activity", and lastly visit a local grocery store to focus on foods that help prevent this chronic disease.

Participants will have the opportunity to prepare and sample a recipe and create their own herb and spice mix.

Remember that sharing the road is the responsibility of drivers, pedestrians, and bicyclists alike. Here are some ways drivers can contribute to :

-Yield to pedestrians in crosswalks.
-Follow the speed limit, especially in neighborhoods and school zones.
-Never pass vehicles stopped at a crosswalk.
-Be extra cautious when backing up.
