The Nature Exploration Academy began as an idea by a group of parents looking for a different school experience for their children.

They envisioned a school that allows their children to connect with nature daily, develop a thirst for learning while allowing the teachers the freedom to teach without testing constraints. Our Director

onal classroom. Timeless Teachings in a Changing World

We provide a hands-on science and nature based curriculum that promotes critical thinking skills and provides a strong academic foundation, meeting up to the current common-core and state standards. We promote confident, environmentally conscious and socially responsible children that will be prepared for life-long learning. Outdoor education and exploration are incorporated daily into the curriculum. We use a hands-on approach which is inquiry based using a variety of teaching methods to connect the student to the natural world. Students observe, measure, weigh, describe, listen, touch, smell, taste, watch, build, collaborate, read, draw, write and demonstrate. The students produce tangible work such as journals, charts, drawings and models. We incorporate Everyday Ecology – teaching principles and practices about sustainable lifestyles. We explore and plant/garden outside. We observe animals and habitats. Students draw on their experiences to make conclusions and explain how the world works. They are empowered by what they understand and are able to discover by connecting past information to present experiences.

Another Field Trip in the books (11/12/21 )for NEA! An amazing follow up to our Social Studies units. Thank you Graue Mill for the wonderful tour. The kids used the cornmeal and recipes to make and bake some delicious treats! ❤️🌽
