The South Side of Chicago was founded on the culture and traditions of our Irish heritage. One of the most poignant traditions is that of the Irish language, which is currently experiencing a long overdue revival. As more and more Irish-Americans look to connect with their homeland, learning the Irish language has taken on an even greater importance in our community. In recognition of this, we hav

e started a program at Gaelic Park to teach the Irish language to adults and children alike. The classes are fun and informal, with an emphasis on conversational Irish. We are fortunate to have classes taught by Áine Nic Giolla Choda (Anne McGillycuddy). Anne recently moved to the area from Dublin and taught in an All Irish school in Wicklow for 13 years. She brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the program. We are pleased and ever proud to bring this language back to our community. Come for the language and stay for the craic!

Six week Winter term starts Thursday the 22nd with Beginners class at Dingers Sports Bar (10638 S Western Ave, Chicago, IL in Beverly) and Intermediate/Advanced at Oak Lawn Public Library. Second term Irish classes start this week! Beginner's Irish continues at Dinger's Sports Bar (10638 S Western Avenue) in Beverly. Intermediate Irish will continue at the Oak Lawn Public Library. Both run 6:30 - 8:30 PM Thursday evenings. The second session dates are October 30th through December 11th (Thanksgiving week off) and the cost is $60 per session. email Sean Kelly at [email protected] for questions. We will still accept new Beginner's Irish students this term (beyond second term would be difficult to catch up). Current students don't need to register beforehand.☘️☘️

Irish Language classes on the south side start soon! Beginner's Irish will be held at Dinger's Sports Bar in Beverly on Thursday evening from 6:30-8:30 PM and Intermediate/Advanced Irish will be taught at Oak Lawn Public Library also on Thursdays from 6:30 to 8:30 PM.
