It’s with great pride to announce that, among the 46,000 public elementary schools nationwide, Kerkstra has been designated by U.S. News & World Report as one of the “Best Elementary Schools.”

Schools that receive this designation are in the top 40% of schools statewide in Illinois. We ranked #321.

Our success comes from the partnership among teachers, students, and families that supports our students’ ongoing growth.

Parents, the work you do at home makes a real difference. Reading with your child, checking homework, communicating with teachers, and encouraging your child to put forth their best effort, academically and behaviorally, each plays an important role in our continued success.

What’s next? Keep encouraging your child to do their best. Make reading at home a daily habit, limit screen time, and ensure they attend school every day and on time.

To celebrate this honor, please have your child wear Kerkstra blue on Friday, December 12, 2025.
