This week went by too quick! We spent the rest of the week…having breakfast on Tuesday, enjoying a Soda bar on Wednesday, having some appetizers Thursday, and rounded out the week with Smokin’ BBQ Kitchen food truck Friday. To all the staff at Foster, THANK YOU for everything you do every day for all of our kids! You make a difference each and every day!

I’ve been bad about posting pictures of all the lunches this year, but today I didn’t forget. All the staff enjoyed the pot luck selections. Thank you to all the families who donated and helped with making this year’s lunches a success! It’s with your help that we can show our appreciation to all of the Foster Staff. Thank you!

A note from Ridge…

Ridge Early Childhood Center will be conducting a Preschool Screening in April 2026 for our preschool program. Preschool Screenings are by appointment only and are for children who reside in District 142. If you have any questions, a child that is between 3-5 years of age (or will be turning 3 by 8/19/2026), or know of anyone with a child of this age, please contact Katy Czech at [email protected] or 708-687-2964 ext. 3129. You can also fill out this Preschool Contact Form. Children that are already enrolled in the preschool program or have been screened previously do not need to be re-screened.

Dear School Parents and Guardians,

Due to the upcoming extreme windchill weather conditions, District 142 will have an e-Learning day on Friday, January 23rd. During this time, the District will pivot to learning from home via Google Meet. Please anticipate communication from your child’s teacher(s) regarding requirements and instruction schedules. Information will be sent to you, as parents, as well as to your child on their district-provided iPad.

For your child’s at-home instruction, expect both live instruction with their teacher(s) on Google Meet, as well as structured independent student work. Teachers will provide Google Meet links in SeeSaw for Grades K, 1 & 2, and in Google Classroom for Grades 3-8. If connectivity and/or Google Meet issues occur, please make sure that your children complete work on SeeSaw and/or Google Classroom. Please note that this is not a snow day and that attendance will be taken by your child’s teacher(s).

We encourage everyone to stay safe and warm during this time.

We have a few PTA things going on this month! Our Domino's Slice The Price fundraiser will be starting this week, we added a new restaurant into the Dine Out's list...Bartolini's, & Paint Night is at the end of the month!

We can't take wait for a great 2026 with all of our D142 Families!
