We're excited to announce that the AET Virtual Vendor/Exhibitor Hall is returning for this year's Virtual Conference—and it's going to be even bigger and better!

Last year marked our first virtual exhibitor experience, and this year we're expanding our outreach to include a wide variety of organizations and businesses that support educational therapists and the professionals and families we serve. We're inviting authors, publishers, educational companies, technology providers, professional service organizations, private practice resources, curriculum developers, and many others to participate as exhibitors and sponsors.

Call for Proposals: Have You Ever Tried? — Research to Practice
One of AET's most popular conference traditions is back!

Have You Ever Tried? (HYET) is a fast-paced, engaging session where Educational Therapists share practical ideas that colleagues can immediately put into practice. Each presenter delivers an 18–20 minute mini-presentation highlighting a strategy, tool, activity, or approach that has been successful in their own practice.

This year's theme is: Research to Practice.

Have you read a research article, explored evidence-based literature, or learned about a cognitive science finding that changed the way you work with students? We'd love to hear how you translated that research into your everyday educational therapy practice.

We're looking for presentations that:

*Connect a research-based source to a practical instructional strategy or intervention.
*Demonstrate how the idea has been implemented with students.
*Provide colleagues with techniques they can begin using without extensive training or preparation.
*Include practical examples, lessons learned, and suggestions for implementation.

Whether you've adapted a writing strategy, executive functioning intervention, math approach, reading practice, language technique, or another evidence-based idea, your experience could inspire fellow ETs to bridge the gap between research and practice.

AET Study Groups Are Now AET Learning Communities!!

Thank you again to everyone who shared feedback on the proposed name change for AET Study Groups. We appreciate the thoughtful input we received throughout the process.

Effective July 1, 2026, AET Study Groups are now officially known as AET Learning Communities (VLCs). The new name better reflects what these groups have always been—a place for educational therapists to learn together, exchange ideas, build professional relationships, and support one another through meaningful discussion and collaboration.

As a result, you'll now see the updated name reflected throughout AET materials and communications, including our website, event calendar, and member resources.

Looking Ahead
Beginning in September, our Friday Virtual Learning Community (VLC) schedule will be changing. We're excited about what's ahead and will be sharing more information, including the new schedule and meeting details, in the coming weeks.

* 1st Friday 8/7/26 “New to ET” VLC: from 4:00-5:00pm ET // 3:00 - 4:00pm CT // 2:00 - 3:00pm MT // 1:00 - 2:00pm PT; This VLC is a facilitated discussion on topics specifically for AET members who are new to Educational Therapy (Student and Associate members). Facilitated by Kara Scanlon and Caroline Towery

* 2nd Friday 8/14/26: “Open Forum” VLC from 11:00am - noon ET// 10:00 - 11:00am CT // 9:00-10:00am MT // 8:00-9:00am PT; Facilitated by Bonnie Massimino and Sharon Barkan

Applications for the EET (Entrepreneurship for Educational Therapists) Cohort is open until August 10!

EET is a virtual support and networking cohort group for Educational Therapists in the early stages of private practice. From intake systems and documentation to gaining clients, networking, scheduling, and e-practice, EET provides practical guidance and supportive collegial connection throughout the year.

*Twice-monthly meetings September–May
*Small cohort model (limited to 15 participants)
*Practical information + collaborative discussion
