Airbnb lost the plot.

It was supposed to be the cheaper, easier alternative to a hotel.

Now you can pay a cleaning fee, a service fee, complete a chore list, take out the trash, strip the beds—and still worry that one decorative pillow is secretly recording you.

No thanks.

When I’m on vacation, I don’t want to cosplay as a homeowner in another city. I want someone else making the bed, breakfast downstairs, fresh towels appearing like magic, and a front desk I can call when something goes wrong.

Yes, an Airbnb can still make sense for a large family, a long stay, or a group trip.

But for a normal getaway?

Hotels are winning me back.

A vacation should temporarily remove responsibilities from your life—not relocate them to a cuter kitchen with a laminated rulebook.
