Martha’s Vineyard Adult Learning Program (MVALP) is a community-based program that provides free E MVALP is part of the Martha's Vineyard Public School System.

MVALP classes are in the Martha’s Vineyard Regional High School. Our Administrative office is located across the street from the high school, at 111c Edgartown/Vineyard Haven Road. It is funded by Adult and Community Learning Services (ACLS) at the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education. Our L1 class took a trip to the Edgartown Public Library tonight and wow — what an incredible resource 🌟📚

We learned about everything the library has to offer, especially for English learners, including:
✨ FREE events and programs
✨ FREE online English language learning course
✨ FREE library books and movies in multiple languages
✨ A Children’s Center for families
✨ The ability to order almost any book from libraries across Martha’s Vineyard and Cape Cod

And the library isn’t just about books — you can even check out real items like induction cooktop, guitars, and board games 🎸♟️

✨ Many of our students were able to leave with a library card and start their library journey today! ✨

We’re so grateful for this amazing resource in our community 💙

A heartfelt thank you to our L1 English teacher Catherine and advisor Marcia for organizing this visit and helping translate so all of our students could fully participate 🤍

And huge thanks to Claudia and the Edgartown Library for welcoming us, opening their doors, and giving us such an informative and inspiring tour. We truly appreciate your support and generosity! 📚✨
