Work has begun on a classroom addition at Westhoff Elementary that will double as a storm shelter that can house the entire school population during a weather event. It is the fifth such addition the district has constructed since voters approved a bond issue in 2022. From schedule pick-up to supply drop-off, thousands of families have smelled that back-to-school smell the past two weeks. You know the one. You remember it from when you were a kid. It's only possible thanks to the work of our custodial crew, who enjoyed an end-of-summer BBQ lunch together after polishing and shining all 27 schools in less than 11 weeks. Classes start Aug. 25. Wave to your custodian!

Aug. 25 is the first day of school! Our buses will be back on the roads. Did you know they transport 10,000 students daily? New this year: Our Transportation Center at Mid Rivers Mall Drive and Salt River Road, north of I-70. If your daily commute takes you through this area, please be aware of peak times for bus traffic. Morning routes run 5:30 to 9:30. Afternoon routes run 1 to 5. Our drivers will be doing a practice run 8-18-26 to be ready for the first day. It takes us all to keep our community safe. Thanks for your partnership.
