Life. Wow it can be awesome, then overwhelming, then awesome again. Then exhausting, then fun and awesome, while still exhausting and overwhelming.

The question is often how do we handle it as individuals? A co-worker said to me last week that he doesn’t feel as if he multi-tasks well and attributed it to being a guy. Now, I don’t know if there’s any scientific study behind that, but maybe the “mom” gene gives females a leg up in the multi-tasking department?

However- what I do know is that regardless, if anyone takes on too much, eventually something will break. Either something doesn’t get done at all, or multiple things don’t get done well. Neither of which is optimal and not the trademark I want to create for myself.

It also can create BURNOUT! We often don’t even see the signs of Burnout in ourselves until it’s too late. That’s why it is so vital to take time for self reflection. It can be as little as 10-15 min at the end of the day, as you’re laying in bed. One of the journals I’ve recently found and started using is pictured below. I bought it off Amazon and have really enjoyed filling it out.

A friend of mine posted something today that reminded me of a lesson we could all benefit from. With her permission (Thank you Dawn Patterson Shew) I’m sharing her words.

She said that she had been working hard to show herself love, grace and appreciation that she has no problem giving others. “That’s hard s**t, yo”. She’s been on a journey of physical improvement, working on her mental well-being, which she says and I can attest to, is often THE HARDEST journey, all while staying true to her authentic self.

It begs the question though… why is it so much more difficult to give ourselves the love and grace and understanding that we deserve? Why do we give it so freely to others before giving it to ourselves?

What is one small action you can take every day to help you give yourself these deserving life spaces? I would love to hear your thoughts!

Did you know that it takes approximately two weeks to gather enough data to accurately determine how you may be able to better manage your time? If you can track your time for two weeks, the results can give you a lifetime of efficiency and skills that help reduce your stress, eliminate the chaos and allow you more time for the things that bring you joy and peace.

As a career woman and single mother of two incredibly busy kids, life often had me going in what felt like a million different directions all at the same time. I often found it difficult, as many do, trying to balance the demands of motherhood and the demands of a growing career. For a period of time, I found myself saying "yes" to way too much, saying "yes" to the expectations or ideas of others, even if they created additional chaos for me. What this led to was creating a feeling of imbalance in life and I knew I needed to fix that.

I had taken some corporate training over the years and had worked my way up the corporate ladder into various leadership positions when I took one training over the course of a week that talked about "filling your life buckets" and that's when the idea of becoming a Coach first came to mind for me. Fast forward a few more years, a lot more experience and a Certification later and A Balanced Life is now a reality.

It is important to know that Coaching Services are NOT Therapy. I provide tools and resources to help you move forward towards a goal or goals and hopefully help you get un-stuck from where you are today. Your past is not for me to dive into. My focus areas are Time Management, Weight & Body Image, Relationship building (both business and personal), and Career Development. Within each of those categories, we can explore a variety of avenues like food planning, home organization, exercise, etc. If you're interested in connecting, please message me or email me.
