It’s official! Nyack’s Little House Of Explorers is opening the garden gates! Prospective families are invited to join alumni and newly enrolled families as we honor the traditions of the former Nyack's Little Schoolhouse and celebrate our official re-opening in July.

Help us plant fresh blooms, dig in the dirt, and add the unique beauty of your family into our garden. Enjoy gardening, painting, bubbles, and refreshments.

We hope to see you there! And please share this invitation with others you know who may be looking for a preschool program for their own children. We would love to meet them and show them around.

Dear Community Members,

As many already know, Christa Sampath, beloved owner and program director of Nyack’s Little Schoolhouse since 1996, has decided to retire and will not open the schoolhouse this fall. I am excited to share that–with Christa’s encouragement, guidance and mentorship–I have agreed to take over the operation of the school once I am licensed by NYS. The licensing process can take many weeks, but fortunately, I am far along and hopeful that the license will be approved in time to begin open houses and enrollment later this fall for attendance beginning in January 2024.

The name of the school will need to change due to the change of hands, and I will announce it once it has been approved by the state. But while the name of the school will be different, my promise to the community is that my vision is to advance and build upon Christa’s unique tradition and approach to early childhood education. Always grounding her work in love and compassion, Christa’s legacy is the extended community of former students, families, teachers and staff whom she has touched over the years, and who stay connected even as they move on to new schools, jobs, and communities near and far. Our mission will continue to be to serve our community by creating a special place where young children and their families can learn, play, grow, respect and appreciate each other.

There is a lot of work and planning underway. I look forward to sharing more in the weeks and months ahead about a new program director, the curriculum, hours and tuition. What’s more fun than making a fort with your friends? 🏕

Today in the “DINO LAB”, we studied the Triassic, Jurassic, and Cretaceous periods. We worked on categorizing our dinosaurs and made observations about their characteristics over time.

We are back on earth after exploring space, but have traveled millions of years back in time: to the land of the dinosaurs! 🦖🦕🌋

We’ve got a really fun project in the works… it’s out of this world!! Hint hint. Stay tuned! 🪐🌎
