A snapshot of the awesome feeling of free expression we had at the end of the Art of Freedom Workshop
What is stream of consciousness writing? Itโs a technique where you write whatever comes to mind, without stopping to overthink it. It's like tapping into the stream of your thoughts and letting them flow freely onto the page.
Why you'll love it:
Boost your creativity: Stream of consciousness can help you break out of creative ruts and spark new ideas.
Get to know yourself better: By putting your unfiltered thoughts on paper, you can gain a deeper understanding of yourself, your dreams, and your goals.
How to:
Grab a pen and paper (or your favorite writing tool).
Choose a prompt (like freedom) or start writing freely about anything that comes to mind.
Don't overthink it! This is all about letting go and trusting the flow of your thoughts.
Tip: Meditate on a theme before you start writing. It can help prime your mind and get those creative juices flowing.

Freedom: It's more than just a word. It's a practice.
Freedom is core to who I am, and I believe it's something we can all cultivate in our lives.
What does freedom mean to you?
For me, true freedom is rooted in faith. Knowing I'm loved and protected by God gives me the courage to make choices that lead to a more fulfilling life.
This freedom spills over into everything I do, including my workshops. You'll experience a lot of creative freedom within a supportive structure. It's about practicing freedom, and celebrating it.
Daily Freedom Practice:
Find a quiet place, take a few deep breaths, and place your hand on your heart. Now, complete the sentence: "Freedom is..."

Compassion: The key to unlocking freedom within yourself
Body: My wise friend reminds me to treat myself with the same dignity, grace, and compassion I offer others. It's a powerful practice!
Is self-compassion is the secret weapon you've been missing.
Sometimes, it starts small, like making art to embrace imperfection.
But that ripple of kindness can transform your entire life.
Do you show yourself the same kindness you give others?
Start small, youโll be amazed by the impact.

Exploring Identity Through Art
If we havenโt met, I'm Ronya, founder of Re-Deme Studio. Iโm a therapeutic artist and educator, and I started Re-Deme Studio to foster creativity, reflection, connection and wellness locally and beyond.
This year, I'm excited to be part of a residency program at Convergence Church. It's a fantastic opportunity to learn and create alongside artists, theologians, and psychologists.
In this series my artwork explores the intersection of race, identity, and design through hybrid forms like digital sculpture, printmaking and 3D printing.
This piece is a prototype for a series on visible identity vs. inherent identity, a theme that connects with our studio's mission to spark curiosity and reflection.
What do you think about using art to explore complex ideas?

๐ What Others Are Saying: โโโโโโโโ
โRonyaโs kind and gentle disposition, along with her sensitivity and skill, led me in an experience where I was able to uncover some fears I had. I used the prompts she gave me to create art that stimulated my imagination and problem solving abilities. โโโโโโโโ

I am now at a place where I have found clear solutions to some difficulties I was facing and I believe the CPR method was a huge part of the breakthrough Iโm experiencing.โโโโโโโโโ

Bilateral drawing helps us surrender our mind, as we use our body in a rhythmic way.
๏ฝฅใฐ๏ธ๏ฝฅ๏พ๏พ
As we draw in this practice, we let go of the need for visible outcomes, while experiencing rhythmic comfort.
๏ฝฅใฐ๏ธ๏ฝฅ๏พ๏พ
Drawing with both hands, and coming back to rhythmic movement, calms our nervous system and activates both sides of the brain in restorative ways.

All month long I'll be asking the question; 'What is one way you can come back to a rhythm of rest today?'
This is one of my go to contemplative practices, Graphica-Divina, which means artistic-divine. If youโve never heard of it, that's because I pretty much made it up ๐ I squished together a few of my favorite practices including Lectio Divina, free association journaling, and Neurographic Drawing.
This creative processing practice can be done in different ways. Here is one way which took me about 2.5 hours (slide 1). Some times I just take a 5 min break from my work day to do a much simpler version with a pencil or marker and my journal (slides 3&4).
No matter which version, it ALWAYS leads to calmness & clarity.
