Need to read more about the new French research which has found a physiological cause for dyslexia hidden in tiny light-receptor cells in the human eye which can apparently be corrected.
Busy doing Access Arrangements this week for a secondary school in Gloucestershire. Always amazed at the range of profiles of people with dyslexia - you really can't generalise.
Lots of talk about coloured overlays and dyslexia in the news. The research shows what practitioners know - overlays and coloured lenses are not a cure for dyslexia and only work for some - those with visual stress. People with or without dyslexia can have visual stress. Overlays and glasses help many in reducing the glare and stabilising the print. The media often give the wrong impression by the way they report, so do ask for guidance. happy to discuss any time.
Great talk at CAP Business Club this morning from 'Dave the Bake' Leopold of Ultimate Solutions. What struck me was that Dave has been so successful in every business venture he has attempted and has such vision. He told us at the start of his talk that he is Dyslexic, so shouldn't be surprised really - it's the gift of dyslexia again.
Happy New Year to all of you who I have trained, supported and worked with. Looking forward to 2015. Start some new work with Gloucestershire University this year - Exciting!
BBC Gloucestershire tomorrow on Anna King's programme about 9.40 - fellow CAP Business Club member Laura Liddell and me will be talking about why dyslexia matters to us
