A new blue pigment has been discovered! This new blue “has unusual hyper-spectral properties, reflecting most infrared radiation, which keeps the pigment cool” making it especially well-suited for energy-saving industrial applications, such as building exteriors.
As a bonus, that all artists can appreciate, it looks like the new blue is going to solve the “murky purple problem” that occurs when you mix most red and blue paints!

If you can’t stay home, the cool new accessory is a mask!
Are you dropping off groceries to someone? In addition to what masks keep out, masks prevent you from touching your nose and mouth and keep a lot of germs in, lowering the risk of asymptomatic folks spreading 🦠 germs.
I am making myself one out of a dishcloth and using pony-tail holders for elastic earloops.
*always remove mask by the earloops, do not touch the front, toss straight in the wash.

Masks DO help. While masks aren’t super effective at preventing folks from catching the virus, they are decent at keeping sick people germs closer to the sick person and preventing folks from touching their nose and face, thus slowing spread. Hospital masks aren’t readily available to the public, but I bet we have some sewing skills in each community! People who are asymptomatic (have it, but don’t seem sick) still spread germs. Korea’s broad testing taught us this. The cloth face masks are washable and re-usable, if people are trained to take them off by the earloops, not touch the front and run them through the laundry. I would love to see every grocery store worker and delivery person in a mask.
There is a video in this article on how to make one.
Bonus: It empowers people who are stuck at home to feel and be helpful.
