You might remember the joyful chaos of throwing beans with your students, laughing as they chased away the “oni” in the classroom, and shouting 「鬼は外！福は内！」 at the top of your lungs. That mix of tradition, fun, and cultural connection is something many JETs carry with them long after they leave Japan.

This year, bring that classroom magic home: gather your family, friends, or other JET alum from your local chapter, grab your roasted soybeans, and recreate the spirit of Setsubun by welcoming good fortune and letting go of the old.

We're looking for volunteers!

11:30 am - 4:30 pm
Novi Civic Center (Novi, MI)

Join us from 11:30 am to 4:30 pm on February 5 to assist with general tasks such as check-in, setup, and post-event cleanup.
(2-hour volunteer shifts also available!)

This is an exciting opportunity to gain experience and network with Japanese industry leaders, all while supporting a unique cultural event.
