Congratulations to College of Marin student Andrew Qiu, who will represent California at this year's Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) National Championship after earning one of the state's top scores on the Microsoft Excel Certification Exam.
The MOS certification is a globally recognized credential that validates real-world skills in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and more. Through hands-on, performance-based exams, students demonstrate the practical skills employers value most.
We are proud of Andrew's achievement and wish him the best as he competes on the national stage. We're cheering him on and hoping to see him advance to the World Championship!

The Certified Nurse Assistant and Home Health Aide (CNA/HHA) training program at College of Marin is transitioning from a not-for-credit offering to a credit and non-credit model beginning Fall 2026. This shift will allow students to earn college credit while accessing the full range of support services available to registered COM students. Prospective students are encouraged to join the interest list to stay informed and receive notification when Fall cohort applications open in July.

The Clinical Placement Collaborative (CPC) is continuing its work to strengthen the future healthcare workforce across the North Bay by bringing together regional nursing programs and healthcare partners to improve coordination and expand clinical access.
Following the momentum of last year’s successful convening, partners are advancing shared strategies for scheduling, onboarding, and preceptor support. We’re looking forward to the 2nd Annual CPC Convening at College of Marin in June 2026, where regional partners will continue this important collaboration and support student clinical placement planning for the upcoming academic year.

Big congratulations to College of Marin Graphic Design students Danni Tinka and Cordelia Parish for taking 1st place at the American Advertising Federation SF Bay Area AI Rebrand Hackathon!
Competing against 11 teams from schools including University of San Francisco, UC Berkeley, Academy of Art University, and City College of San Francisco, the duo earned the top student achievement award and a $1,000 prize.
In just four and a half hours, teams developed branding strategy, logo concepts, and real-world mockups for ASIAN, Inc., a Bay Area nonprofit focused on affordable housing, small business development, and financial empowerment.
The winning team was honored at the Addy Awards on March 12 at The Clancy in San Francisco.

Perkins V is the primary federal legislation supporting Career Education and workforce training programs nationwide. As part of these requirements, colleges complete a Comprehensive Local Needs Assessment (CLNA) to gather feedback on workforce needs, program quality, student access and success, industry partnerships, and future Career Education priorities.

Join us in celebrating the College of Marin Registered Nursing Class of 2026 at the annual Nursing Pinning Ceremony on May 21!
This meaningful tradition honors the transition from student nurse to professional nurse and recognizes the dedication, compassion, and hard work of our graduating students. This year, 42 future nurses will take the next step toward serving patients and communities across the region.
Since 1965, the College of Marin Nursing Program has prepared generations of nurses for the local healthcare workforce. We’re also excited to share that beginning in Fall 2026, the program will expand enrollment to 48 students, helping meet the growing need for healthcare professionals in our community.
