Meet Ted Chor -

My time at Marin Christian Academy was deeply formative and has had a lasting impact on who I am today. After graduating from Johns Hopkins University with degrees in Philosophy and Neuroscience, I am beginning work in college ministry with InterVarsity and as an EMT in Philadelphia. My long-term goal is to become a physician serving patients struggling with substance addiction in low-income inner-city communities.

MCA taught me that my identity isn't found in my grades or accomplishments—though I was a straight-A student—but in Christ. Through Bible classes, chapel, and Fall Retreat, I learned that my greatest joy comes not from serving myself, but from serving others and ultimately serving Him.

One of the experiences that most shaped me was serving on the Mexico missions trip with Rancho de Sus Niños. From fundraising to serving alongside a local community in Tijuana, God used that experience to grow my heart for service and inspire my continued work in healthcare, particularly in Spanish-speaking communities.

Academically, MCA prepared me well. I entered high school ahead of many of my peers and developed a strong work ethic that has continued to serve me throughout college and beyond. More importantly, MCA's teachers invested deeply in my life. Even years later, I still keep in touch with many of them. I may not remember every lesson they taught, but I will always remember how they made me feel—empowered, valued, and deeply loved.

I am incredibly grateful for the foundation MCA gave me—a love for learning, a heart for service, and, most importantly, a deeper understanding that my identity and purpose are found in Christ.
