Contest Winners

Was bedeutet Deutschland für dich? (What does Germany mean to you?)

This spring, four of our youth classes explored that question in a creativity contest hosted by the German American School Association of Northern California and sponsored by the. German Consulate General San Francisco

Students created thoughtful and imaginative work. Submissions included writing, drawings, crossword puzzles, a bingo game, and a video.

Winners have been announced, and we celebrated all participants with a pizza + cupcake party last Saturday. Student work will be on display at our Abschlussfeier on May 9.

We are seeking a German Language classroom teacher for our Middle School class at our Novato campus for the upcoming 2026-2027 school year. Summer Day Camp!
Our German Immersion Summer Day Camp is a one-week day camp for kids 4-9 years old offered at our Santa Rosa campus June 22-26 from 9am-4pm! During this fun week of practicing German, the kids will engage in yoga stories, interactive theater games, visual arts (sewing, puppets, painting), and simple cooking tasks. On Thursday afternoon, parents and friends are invited to view a short theatrical performance. It's a great way for kids to foster their development of German language skills, friendships, and creative expression. 🎉

Laternenfest on Nov. 8!
Grab your jackets and scarves and join us for a centuries-old German tradition of songs and brightly-colored lanterns to celebrate St. Martin's Day! We will meet at Pioneer Park in Novato on November 8 at 5:30pm, light our lanterns (with flameless candles), and have a lantern parade with traditional German St. Martin's songs. After the parade we'll enjoy refreshments. No lantern? No problem! We'll have extras if you need one! Everyone is welcome, please bring your friends!

Abschlussfeier on our Novato Campus! We’re almost at the end of our school year! Saturday, May 10, is our last day of school. On that day, we will be having a graduation celebration (Abschlussfeier) on our Novato Campus. We need your help to make our Abschlussfeier a success! Please Sign Up on our list to see how you can help!
Parents, family, and friends are invited to join us at our Abschlussfeier to enjoy presentations by the students, display of students’ projects, award ceremony, and book fair, followed by lunch and dessert!

Abschlussfeier on our Santa Rosa Campus
On Saturday, May 10 we’ll gather in the courtyard at 10:45 for a gemütliches Zusammensein. There will be sandwiches from the Wooden Petal for everyone to enjoy. Please bring your own non-alcoholic beverages. No need to sign up for that Pause that day.

Book Fair Today!
This is the last book sale of the semester, get your books for the summer break! We will be having a Book Fair this Saturday, April 26 at our Novato campus during school hours. Find your treasures and donate a dollar or two or whatever you think your treasures are worth. We have books for children, teens, and adults to choose from. All donations for books support our school.

German Summer Day Camp!

Movement, Art, and Storytelling is a one-week day camp for kids 5-10 years old offered at our Santa Rosa campus August 4-8 from 9am-3pm! During this fun week of practicing German, the kids will create and be engaged in puppet shows, art projects, nature crafts, and more. They will also have fun with movement games and yoga stories to add a healthy daily structure, fostering development of German language skills, friendships, and creative expression.
