The second Monday in October is Indigenous Peoples' Day. Acknowledging and celebrating Indigenous Peoples’ Day is a great way to increase awareness of Notre Dame’s intertwined history with Native peoples and current efforts to create a welcoming environment for ND’s smallest student group.

At the University of Notre Dame, Assistant Professor Margaret McGuinness— is testing a flexible, extendable robot that grows like a vine and can be steered around obstacles and through narrow passageways, holding a camera on the end to show team leaders the challenges they face in getting to a victim trapped under rubble.

On September 14th, the ND Senior Alumni group held our 12th Annual Golf Tournament benefiting the God, Country, Notre Dame Scholarship.

Over the past five years, contributions made through the tournament have totaled over a quarter of million dollars, including this year projected to raise ~$50,000. This could not have been possible without the continued support of our golfers, sponsors, volunteers and others who return year after year to help make this event a success.

Congratulations to the tournament winners (shown in this post) and thanks to everyone who participated in the tournament.

Let's Be A Force For Good Today-
this was received from an ND'20 Alum...My dad is a Purple Heart recipient and Marine Corps veteran who was shot in the spine by a sniper while serving with the 7th Marines in Vietnam. He survived against incredible odds, but his injuries left him permanently disabled .He has never been to a Notre Dame football game. For years, his disability made the idea of navigating a game day and stadium feel like more than he wanted to take on.
This year, I nominated him for Nominate a Veteran 2026, and he was selected to receive two tickets to the Notre Dame–Michigan State game this weekend. It means more to him — and to our family — than I can really put into words. Unfortunately, we now have one concern. My dad is immunocompromised, and with the forecast calling for a significant amount of rain, sitting outside in a downpour for several hours could be really hard on his health.
So I’m reaching out to the Notre Dame community to see if anyone might have access to two covered seats (one for him, one for his caregiver) or know of someone we could contact about a possible exchange. We aren’t looking for better seats — just somewhere protected from the weather so this Vietnam veteran can finally experience his first Notre Dame football game.
